Foundation for the Promotion of Entrepreneurial Initiatives

Welcome to the Foundation for the Promotion of Entrepreneurial Initiatives (FPEI). We are a not-for-profit organisation with the mission of promoting and supporting entrepreneurship in Malta.

Our aim is to foster and empower entrepreneurship in Malta by providing comprehensive support and promoting a thriving ecosystem for startups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and freelancers. We promote a growth mindset and strive in fostering and enhancing the entrepreneurial spirit.

At FPEI, we believe that entrepreneurship is the catalyst for innovation, economic growth, and societal development. We strive to create an environment that nurtures and encourages aspiring entrepreneurs, guiding them towards success.

Through our workshops, projects, and services, we aim to equip individuals and businesses with the necessary tools, knowledge, and resources to thrive in the dynamic world of entrepreneurship.

FPEI offers membership opportunities to companies and organisations that provide services to entrepreneurs. By becoming a member of FPEI Enterprise, you gain access to a network of like-minded individuals, industry experts, and potential collaborators. Our members benefit from exclusive events, training programmes, and resources that help enhance their support offerings for entrepreneurs.

FPEI encourages all forms of entrepreneurial initiatives and start-ups, from high-tech/high-growth ventures to social enterprises.

We also offer membership to tertiary-level students with FPEI Pathfinder – an entrepreneurship club targeted exclusively to students who are passionate about entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-development.

Mission: To promote and support entrepreneurship

FPEI believes that entrepreneurial skills are essential for economic growth and generating employment . Entrepreneurship is a mindset, not a status, and FPEI promotes this ideology through its initiatives.

Key Focus Areas:

  1. Entrepreneurship in Malta: FPEI is committed to cultivating a vibrant entrepreneurial culture in Malta. We encourage and inspire individuals to embark on their entrepreneurial journey, supporting them every step of the way. By fostering a spirit of innovation and creativity, we aim to unlock the full potential of Malta’s entrepreneurial talent.

  2. Startups in Malta: FPEI recognises the vital role startups play in driving economic growth and job creation. We provide tailored support and guidance to startup founders, helping them navigate the challenges they may encounter along their entrepreneurial path. From mentorship programmes to networking events, we offer a platform for startups to thrive and succeed.

  3. Freelancers in Malta: We understand the unique challenges faced by freelancers and independent professionals. FPEI is committed to providing freelancers with the necessary support to thrive in their chosen fields. We offer networking opportunities, skill development programmes, and a supportive community to foster their success.

  4. Access to Finance: We recognise that access to finance is a critical factor for the growth and sustainability of entrepreneurial initiatives. FPEI’s flagship project is the reward and donation-based crowdfunding platform, Zaar, that offers startups, individuals, social enterprises, and voluntary organisations an alternative finance method for raising funds for projects and initiatives. We strive to connect entrepreneurs with the funding opportunities they need to bring their ideas to life.
